Spiritual Growth
Marjorie J. Thompson, in her lovely book, Soul Feast,* writes, "There is a hunger abroad in our time, haunting lives and hearts. Like an empty stomach aching beneath the sleek coat of a seemingly well-fed creature, it reveals that something is missing from the diet of our rational, secular, and affluent culture. Both within and beyond traditional faith communities, a hunger for spiritual depth and integrity is gaining momentum."
At Crossroads United Church we understand that all God's people, at every stage of their lives, are spiritual beings with a yearning to know their Creator. To play with a Biblical metaphor, we know that there are many doors into the house of God (John 14:2), and that helping folks find their way in to a relationship with God requires tolerance for diversity and an appreciation of the particularity of each child of God. The ministries you will find in this menu represent the time, commitment and spiritual gifts of members of Crossroads who are offering themselves for the sake of others' (and their own) spiritual growth. We hope you find a door open for you!
