Oak Avenue Keystone Mission

The Oak Avenue Keystone (OAK) Mission is based at the Amazing Grace United Church 12740 102 Avenue, Surrey BC. The Mission is the collaborative effort of neighbouring United Churches: Northwood, Amazing Grace, Crossroads, Colebrook and Bethany Newton. 

Inspired by the commands of Jesus to clothe the naked, feed the hungry and visit the lonely, the clothing ministry (called the “Clothes Closet”) provides clothing at no cost to families in need. There are also monthly family dinners so that low income families in the neighbourhood can eat healthy wholesome meals and be able to connect with their neighbours.

The dream of the Keystone Mission Board is to provide a place where anyone can come to enrich their life.

If you would like to support the Oak Avenue Keystone Mission donations of gently used children's clothing (fitting babies to 12-year-olds) may be brought to the “Clothes Closet,” new members of the Board are always welcome, as are offers to provide one of the monthly meals.

On September 12, 2009, members of the Crossroads congregation hosted a neighbourhood dinner at the Oak Avenue Keystone Mission as part of the "Homecoming Weekend" celebrating Crossroads' birth. More than 20 members of Crossroads participated in the preparation, set-up, serving, and clean-up of the meal, which fed over 100 people. It was a great way to begin our congregation's life in service, and we have followed up with two meals each following year - one in the spring and one in the fall. Our next Crossroads neighbourhood dinner will be served on Saturday, April 14, 2012. We look forward to hosting this meal at Amazing Grace United Church with gratitude in our hearts.
