Music
Music is a vital ministry at Crossroads United, a conduit for the Holy to enter our lives and a vehicle for praise of the One "in whom we live and move and have our being."
Crossroads is a new congregation, and as such we are still discerning where the Spirit is calling us musically. What a gift to be in process! If you have musical passions you wish to explore, and vocal or instrumental gifts you would like to offer, we can find a home for you in our music ministry. Just let us know where you feel called to be!
The Choir
The all-ages choir rehearses Sunday mornings before worship, 9am - 10am. Families, singles and couples are all welcome to join us - no previous experience necessary, just a curiosity about or passion for singing. Drop-ins and occasional singers are also welcome. We want you to be all you can be musically, so opportunities for solo and small ensemble work are also encouraged.
The Band
Instrumentalists of all ages can help to lead us in worship! We have an amazing group of volunteer musicians of all skill levels who contribute regularly to worship, so please join us if you wish to exercise your gifts in this vital ministry. Rehearsals are Monday nights at 7pm.
Children's Choir
Led by our able accompanist, Nicole Desy, the children's choir (ages 5 and up) is a wonderful opportunity for kids to explore their faith through singing in community. Rehearsals are after Sunday worship, around 12pm, for fifteen minutes to half an hour.
Our Contractor for Music Ministry is Dr. Bruce Harding. Bruce is an active musician in the Vancouver area, and a member of Music United: The United Church of Canada Association of Musicians. More information about Bruce can be found on his website at evensong.ca.
